Amy and Neils Engagement Shoot

Whenever on a shoot, I always add in flavor from the surrounding environment. This makes the photograph memorable. They remember the weird color of light that evening. They remember how many different colors the sky turned at sunset, and they remember the kisses they had underneath such ominous looking skies.

Yesterday evening we drove down to meet with Amy and Neil, who's wedding we will now be shooting next May. Despite the rain on the way up, we all maintained a positive attitude and remained hopeful that the rain would let up just enough for us to get some shooting done.

We got lucky!

Chris and I both felt so at ease with these guys, like we could just laugh and be our dorky selves! We did! They wanted to get wet, of course we never have a problem with this sort of thing. So, we all headed out into the water!

Chris and I are jumping waves...lol...camera, flashes and pocket wizards in tow, trying to get some unbelievable shots!

Then the rainbow....holy jeez man! It was a double! Can you see the second one!?

Check em out!

Other than the few available light shots, all others were shot with 1 off camera flash.

Techy Stuff:
A Canon 580EX was set to 105mm because I wanted to give some room between us and the couple when they headed out. It was set to 1/2 power, hand held by Chris, the voice activated light stand. A full CTO gel was applied to match the light of the setting sun.

I love these pictures! Amy has an *amazing* smile! The kind that can light up a whole room. I love the moments you caught between her and Neil. And the reflection of the two of them that you caught in the wet sand in picture #3 is too cool!
